Case Studies for Business Management
Welcome to the Revision Village IB Business Management Case Studies Collection. These Case Studies are designed to support students in their preparation for the IB Business Management examinations.
What is in the Case Study Collection?
The IB Business Management Case Study Collection is composed of Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3-style Case Studies focused on one or more units. Each Case Study presents resources about a business along with a corresponding set of exam-style questions. The diversity of resources and question types ensures ample opportunity to practise data interpretation, business analysis, context-based application, and concise, accurate responses for all question types found in IB Business Management Papers 1, 2, and 3(HL).
The Case Studies are organised by unit. To support you at every stage of your DP journey, our resources follow a clear progression. Our collection begins with Case Studies focused specifically on Unit 1. These are unit-specific, allowing you to review and apply content immediately as you learn it in class. We provide these targeted studies for Paper 1, 2, and 3 (HL) contexts.
As you progress through the course, we introduce multi-unit Case Studies. These mirror the complexity of the actual IB exams by requiring you to integrate concepts from different units, such as linking a marketing strategy to its financial impact. This structure allows you to select Case Studies that provide focused practice in specific areas of the syllabus or challenge your ability to synthesise the entire course.
How should Case Studies be best used?
IB Business Management students will learn the most and develop their skills best, when actively practicing answering the types of questions they will face on the IB Business Management examinations. In reading, analysing, and writing answers to the provided materials, you will improve your ability to formulate accurate, concise, and relevant responses to IB Business Management questions. Throughout the process, learners are supported by detailed markschemes, video solutions, and targeted feedback provided by Newton AI, ensuring continuous improvement in exam technique and understanding.
What is the difference between Open Study and Examination Mode?
This feature can be attempted in either Open Study or Examination Mode. The Open Study Mode will allow you to answer and review each question at your own pace. You can receive carefully tailored AI feedback and consult the written markscheme and video for each question at each step.
The Examination Mode is a simulation of exam conditions. Under this mode, you submit all your answers when finished. You may choose to answer questions in any order you wish and go back to change answers before you submit. After completion, you will have access to all markschemes and video solutions, and you will receive AI feedback and an overall 1 - 7 mark on your submitted work. To best simulate exam conditions, we advise that you time yourself using the duration indicated.
In Examination Mode, your answers will be saved so you can always return to them. In Open Study Mode, you can attempt each question anew.
How are the Case Studies organised? Should I go in order?
You can complete the Case Studies in any order that fits your personal revision schedule or highlights areas where you need additional practice. However, we recommend starting with the unit-specific studies during your initial learning phase and moving toward the multi-unit and exam-style Case Studies as you approach your final assessments. This variety develops your ability to apply business management concepts across different contexts and increasingly complex question types.
How long are the Case Studies?
Due to the requirements of the IB Business Management exams, the best way to practice is under timed conditions. To support every type of learner, we’ve built a library of resources that adapt to your schedule, including full-length Case Studies that match the official exam structure. For Papers 1 and 2, we’ve also designed shorter, 40-minute Case Studies that target specific Assessment Objectives. These allow you to tailor your revision to the areas where you need the most practice, making your study sessions more efficient and effective.
For revision of Paper 3 (HL), we offer multiple case studies designed in the Paper 3 format for Higher Level students. These case studies include a series of resources and questions that simulate the official exam structure, allowing students to practice analysing social enterprises, applying theory, and recommending plans of action. The variety and number of case studies provide extensive opportunities for targeted practice, helping students prepare thoroughly for the Paper 3 exam section of the Business Management course.
How hard are the Case Studies?
Our Case Studies are tiered by difficulty - easy, medium, and hard - to provide a structured path for your revision. Each question is individually tagged by difficulty, allowing you to focus on the specific areas where you need to build confidence or stretch your skills.
